A friend forwarded me a link which I was at first skeptical to click on until I saw some interesting pictures… It was actually a short story (or should I say the reality) about the condition of the men protecting and manning the area in Spratlys…
Somehow my heart broke upon seeing the state of how they are living out there away from their family to be in patrol of the said areas currently under dispute from several nations.
As per Wikipedia, The Spratly Islands dispute is a territorial dispute over the ownership of the Spratly Islands, a group of islands located in the South China Sea. States staking claims to various islands are: Brunei, China (People's Republic of China), Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan (Republic of China), and Vietnam. All except Brunei occupy some of the islands.
